Clalit Health Services is offering a telephone information line for Holocaust survivors and their families who want to learn more about their benefit rights. The line, open as part of Martyrs and Heroes Remembrance (Holocaust Memorial) Day, is accessible via the health funds *2700 phone line. Clalit decided to offer the service after learning from a survey that many disabled Holocaust survivors are unaware of their rights to exemptions from certain medical charges such as copayments for visits to doctors and hospital outpatient clinics and for some medications. Callers will be referred to officials in the Finance Ministry who deal with such exemptions. Eli Dapas, deputy director-general of Clalit's community services branch, has written the Finance and Health ministries demanding immediately the full list of names of Holocaust survivors who have been recognized by the Treasury as being exempt from payment for such services.
