The Health Ministry has asked the public not to eat ikra (fish egg) salad produced on a specific date in 250 gram and 500 gram packages by Ma'adanei Shalva Ve'Danny at 5 Rehov Habossem in Ashdod.
The product was found by district health inspectors on Thursday to have high levels of Listeria bacteria.
Those who have the salad with a production date of 13/12/06 and last date of use given as 13/2/07 should return it to the store.
Listeria can cause disease in humans, especially those with weak immune systems such as the elderly, children, pregnant women and chronic disease patients.
