Hadassah president, HMO D-G reach deal

Prof Mor-Yosef's tenure to be extended beyond December, 'Jerusalem Post' learns.

After hours of discussions at the New York headquarters of the HadassahWomen's Zionist Organization of America, it was decided that the tenureof Hadassah Medical Organization director-general Prof. ShlomoMor-Yosef will be extended, The Jerusalem Post learned on Friday.
HWZOApresident Nancy Falchuk and Mor-Yosef, who was invited specially to NewYork to meet with her, issued a terse, joint statement that they "havereached an amicable agreement concerning the continued management ofHMO in Jerusalem." No details were released, but it was stated thatthey will be when the HMO board of directors meets in Jerusalem onMarch 16 and 17.
Mor-Yosef, who was told by the board in Januarythat his tenure would not continue beyond December, recently statedthat he wanted to remain in his post until the end of 2012 so he couldcomplete everything necessary for the opening of the 14-storyhospitalization tower at Hadassah University Medical Center inJerusalem’s Ein Kerem.
He was involved in the planning of the monumental facility from thestart. The building, which will have 500 beds and the most advancedtechnologies and replace all existing wards, is meant to celebrate thewomen’s organization’s 100th birthday.
Four of the five Israeliboard members have resigned since January in protest over the failureto extend his contact beyond 2010.
