HIV carrier doctor to return to surgeon work

An HIV positive physician will be able to work again as a surgeon, a Health Ministry committee decided on Thursday evening. The affair was exposed in February, when the surgeon underwent blood tests after feeling ill. He was found to be an HIV carrier, and almost 2,000 patients who have undergone surgery with the doctor were recalled for blood tests. Fortunately none were found to be HIV positive. The surgeon is one of the top cardiologists in Israel.
