WMA slammed for not denouncing Darfur genocide

The Israel Medical Association, whose chairman Dr. Yoram Blachar is outgoing chairman of the World Medical Association (WMA), on Monday criticized the "umbrella organization" of national medical associations for failing to denounce genocide of 200,000 innocent Africans in Darfur. It called on the WMA to put the issue on its agenda. It also made a special request to the World Health Assembly meeting this week in Geneva to include it in its agenda, but was refused. Israel has already taken in some refugees who arrived in Eilat by foot from Sudan.
