2 US soldiers killed by bomb north of Baghdad

Two US soldiers and an interpreter were killed by a roadside bomb northwest of Baghdad on Friday, the US military said. The soldiers were conducting a patrol to clear a major road of explosives, when the bomb struck, the military said in a statement. Another soldier was wounded in the blast, it said. Earlier, the military announced that a US Marine had died in combat Wednesday in Iraq's western Anbar province. The victims' names were withheld pending family notification.
