25 crew members of Jordanian ship rescued

Sri Lanka's Tamil rebels said Saturday that all 25 crew from a Jordanian ship that drifted into guerrilla-controlled waters were safe after being rescued. The Farha-3, with a cargo of rice bound for South Africa, drifted into rebel-controlled coastal waters after its engine failed on Friday, military spokesman Brig. -Gen. Prasad Samarasinghe said. A rebel official said all the 25 members crew from Jordan and Egypt were safe and resting. The military accused the rebels of trying to capture the 150-meter (490-foot) ship, but the guerrillas denied the allegation.
