8 civilians killed in suicide attack in southern Afghanistan

A provincial police chief says a suicide car bomb targeting a NATO convoy in southern Afghanistan has killed eight civilians and wounded 22 other people. Kandahar police Chief Sayed Agha Saqib says no NATO troops were wounded in the blast, which happened Thursday inside Kandahar city. The wounded include two policemen and seven who are in serious condition. Saqib says the bomber detonated the explosives after the NATO convoy passed near him.
