The front carriage of a train carrying about 90 people derailed in Scotland on Saturday because of a landslide, and its driver and eight passengers were slightly injured, police said.
Despite his injuries, the driver walked to a nearby road to notify authorities about the accident, police said.
Police, fire and ambulance services raced to the scene near Inverness, and a Royal Air Force helicopter took the injured to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The landslide occurred near the town of Culloden in the Scottish Highlands, a mountainous area of northern Scotland, when the train hit the landslide while traveling from Inverness to Edinburgh.
Network Rail said it expected the train line to be closed for most of Saturday while it was cleared.
