Afghanistan: 4 police, 25 militants killed in violence

A roadside bomb blast killed four Afghan police on Sunday, while 25 militants were said to be killed in a clash in the country's south, officials said.
The roadside bomb attack came in Ghazni province as police were traveling through the countryside, said Ali Shah Ahmadzai, the provincial police chief. He said two officers were wounded in the attack, which he blamed on Taliban militants.
In neighboring Uruzgan province, a clash between "opposition" fighters and police and international troops killed 25 militants, the Interior Ministry said in a statement. The fighters' dead bodies were left on the battlefield, the ministry said.
