Afghanistan: Suicide bomber wounds at least seven

A suicide bomber on foot blew himself up outside a police station in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, wounding at least seven officers and civilians, a police official said. The bomber tried to enter the police headquarters in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province, before being challenged by the policemen at the gate, said Abdul Manan Khan, a police officer at the scene. At least seven police officers and civilians waiting outside were wounded in the blast, Khan said.
