American citizens were called by the US State Department to take security considerations into account when visiting Israel and the Palestinian territories, Israel Radio reported Friday overnight.
The statement calls on Americans to avoid visiting the West Bank, and calls on all American citizens residing in Gaza to leave the area immediately, be they tourists or citizens in official roles such as journalists or workers of aid agencies.
While the statement was published in the past, the clause regarding aid agency workers and journalists was a new addition, Israel Radio reported.
