UN Secretary General Kofi Annan warned early Saturday that an Israeli ground offensive into southern Lebanon would be "a grave escalation" of the current situation.
Annan, speaking to CNN, said that "if they [Israel] intend to stay and create what they have called in the past a buffer zone, it would be a buffer zone for them [Israel], but for others would be an occupation which would enhance resistance."
