Ban involved in efforts to free captured soldiers

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is involved in efforts to secure the release of the captured IDF soldiers, Ban confirmed overnight Monday. Ban told reporters at the UN headquarters that for understandable reasons, he would not elaborate on what efforts had been made in order not to hinder the chances of the three soldiers' release. The UN secretary general went on to say that the UN was prepared to mediate between Israel and Syria in order to achieve a peace deal between the two sides.
