Authorities evacuated a busy terminal at Brussels' Zaventem International Airport after a man refused to pass through a metal detector, and fled the scene.
All flights from the terminal were immediately suspended and passengers were told to leave the terminal while police searched for the man.
"This is a very exceptional situation," airport spokesman Jan Van Der Cruysse told VRT network. He said the suspect fled into the terminal to escape a security check.
No further information about the suspect was available.
