Blast kills 3 US-coalition soldiers, 1 interpreter near Afghan capital

Militants attacked troops from the US-led coalition patrolling south of the Afghan capital on Thursday, killing three of them as well as an Afghan interpreter. "Severe blast and fire damage" destroyed one vehicle in the convoy as it passed through Saydabad, a district of Wardak province, a coalition statement said. Two of the bodies were recovered on site while "two sets of remains were located in a nearby field." The nationality of the troops was not released. Coalition and Afghan forces were searching for the attackers, it said.
