Brazil, Argentina launch space rocket in first joint mission

Brazil and Argentina successfully launched a rocket into space on Sunday in the first joint space mission by the two South American nations.
The VS30 rocket, which carried experiments from both countries, blasted off from the Barreira do Inferno launch center in Brazil's northern Rio Grande do Norte state, the country's Space Agency said in a statement.
The rocket reached a height of 121 kilometers and its flight - which lasted 9 minutes, 25 seconds - was considered "perfect," the agency said.
Bad weather had delayed liftoff several times since Wednesday.
The operation was the result of a 1998 accord between Brazil's and Argentina's space agencies.
