Bus plunges into reservoir in China, killing 11

At least 11 people were killed when a bus plunged into a reservoir in eastern China on Friday, a state news agency reported. Seven people were pulled to safety, the official Xinhua News Agency said. The accident happened at about 7 a.m. in Zhejiang province when the bus carrying about 20 passengers collided head-on with a truck, crashed through concrete barriers lining the road and plunged more than 10 meters into the Pengxi reservoir, it said. About 300 rescuers helped pull the bus from the water and retrieve 11 bodies, it said. But because there was no accurate number of the passengers on the bus, it was not known if there were others still missing, Xinhua quoted a local official as saying.
