A car bomb apparently targeting a paramilitary truck exploded in India's portion of Kashmir on Saturday, wounding five soldiers in the vehicle and four civilians, police said.
The car, parked on a roadside in the Hyderpura district of Srinagar, exploded as the military vehicle drove by, and the blast appeared to have been trigged by a remote control, said Sajad Ahmed, a police officer.
The wounded were hospitalized in Srinagar, the summer capital of India's Jammu-Kashmir state, Ahmed said.
Ahmed did not comment on who might be responsible for the attack.
