The prime minister of Chechnya's Kremlin-backed government on Wednesday praised Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to reduce the number of Russian soldiers in the republic.
Putin ordered the government last week to develop a plan for reducing the use of their forces in Chechnya over the next two years.
Russia has an estimated 24,000 troops permanently stationed in Chechnya.
