Cheney: Bush's credibility not on line in Iraq

Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday it was "hogwash" to suggest that President George W. Bush's credibility was on the line because of mistakes made in Iraq. Cheney acknowledged that the situation in Iraq was very unstable, but said it was not hopeless, and that he trusted Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. "I don't have any reason not to trust him," Cheney said in an occasionally testy televised interview with CNN television anchor Wolf Blitzer. The vice president also said he does not think Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton would make a very good president "because she's a Democrat." "I don't agree with her philosophically and from a policy standpoint," he said.
