Chicago priest apologizes, says episode has been 'painful'

The Chicago priest whose comments about Hillary Rodham Clinton reignited the controversy over Barack Obama's former church has apologized to his parishioners.
At his own church Sunday, the Rev. Michael Pfleger said he is not racist or sexist. He said the past few days have been the most painful of his life.
Pleger said he has received more than 3,000 angry and threatening e-mails since he was a guest preacher at Trinity United Church of Christ last Sunday. During that sermon, Pfleger, a Catholic priest, pretended he was Clinton crying over "a black man stealing my show."
In the apology, Pfleger said the sermon included theatrics he often uses while preaching.
