Chilean police director among 11 killed in Panama helicopter crash

Panama's interior minister says at least 11 people died when the government helicopter they were riding in crashed into a three-story building in Panama City. Daniel Delgado says the dead include Chilean national police chief Gen. Jose Alejandro Bernales, five other visiting Chileans and five Panamanian officials. A local policeman was injured. Chile's President Michelle Bachelet rushed to Santiago when she learned of the death of the death of Bernales, who was on an official visit to Panama with his wife. Also killed were Chilean police commanders Oscar Tapia and Ricardo Orozco, Capt. Mauricio Fuenzalida, and Tapia's wife, Carolina Reyes.
