China tells Iran it supports negotiations on nukes

China's foreign minister spoke with his Iranian counterpart by telephone on Friday, telling him that Beijing supports all efforts to resolve the Iran nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations, state media reported. The conversation follows a breakthrough agreement Thursday in Vienna on a package of incentives designed to persuade Iran to halt its nuclear program. Li Zhaoxing and Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki discussed the nuclear issue, and Li said China "supports all the efforts conducive to the resolution of the Iran nuclear issue through diplomatic negotiations," the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
