Chinese premier in talks with Russia's Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Monday, saying he hoped cooperation between the giant neighbors can help China achieve goals set by its ruling Communist Party last month. Wen arrived in Moscow for a two-day visit that coincides with the close of a Year of China in Russia, an event aimed at boosting trade and other interaction. He was to meet Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov on Tuesday for talks on economic cooperation. Putin said he congratulated Wen on a successful national party congress and said the Chinese leadership had "set out big plans for the development of the People's Republic of China." "We hope that Russian-Chinese cooperation will be a significant contribution to the realization of those plans," Putin said
