Crude oil reaches record-breaking US$ 140 per barrel

Oil prices have broken the US$ 140 per-barrel mark, Israel Radio reported Friday morning.
The hike brings the prices of crude oil to their highest ever.
On Thursday a top ranking OPEC official assessed that oil prices will continue to rise at least until the rest of 2008, a statement which may have influenced the market and brought prices up.
