Danes reopen Indonesia embassy after cartoon furor

Denmark reopened its embassy in Indonesia on Monday, more than three weeks after closing due to protests and unspecified threats over cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad published in a Danish newspaper.
The embassy closed on Feb. 11 after more than 150 hard-line Muslims stormed a high-rise building housing the mission and burned the Danish flag.
Indonesia berated Denmark for what it said was a hasty decision to withdraw.
Last month, Denmark temporarily closed its embassy in Pakistan following violent protests over the Prophet Muhammad cartoons. Danish embassies in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran have also been temporarily closed, after anti-Danish protests and threats against staff.
