Danish news editor: Dark dictatorships have won

The editor of a Danish newspaper whose caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad sparked boycotts and outrage in Islamic countries said Wednesday the furor amounts to a victory for opponents of free expression. "The dark dictatorships have won," said Carsten Juste, editor of the Jyllands-Posten, told The Associated Press. French and German newspapers republished the caricatures on Wednesday, saying that religious dogma has no place in a secular society.
