An Egyptian woman died of avian flu after being hospitalized for six days in a Cairo hospital.
The Egyptian Health Ministry spokesman said that Varda Aid Ahmad's death at age 27 makes her the 11th victim to die of avian flu in Egypt since February 2006.
Eight other patients diagnosed avian flu have recovered from the illness.
