After a Paris police station received a threatening telephone call Sunday, authorities asked visitors and workers to leave the monument, police said. A squad of explosives experts headed to the scene - standard procedure after such threats.
The 324-meter (1,069-foot) tower is one of France's top tourist attractions, with more than 6 million visitors in 2004.
