Ethiopian PM: War against terrorists almost complete

Ethiopian PM: War against terrorists in Somalia almost complete Prime Minister Meles Zenawi said Wednesday he is awaiting DNA results of suspected terrorists killed in a US airstrike in Somalia to confirm their identities. He told journalists in the capital Addis Ababa that a single airstrike on the southern tip of Somalia had killed eight terror suspects and that five had been wounded and captured by Ethiopian troops. Seven escaped the attack, he added. The mopping up of the remaining suspected terrorists was "mostly completed," he added, and disputed reports that innocent victims had been killed in the attack. "I was assured by our troops that no civilians were killed," he said. Meles, who sent in thousands of Ethiopian troops, backed by tanks and warplanes on Dec. 24 also said he was "not aware of any American special forces in Somalia."
