Former UN inspector: N. Korea needs nuclear talks

The former UN chief weapons inspector said Tuesday it is urgent that North Korea return to talks on its nuclear program, noting that the communist state has atomic weapons and may be preparing to test-fire a missile. "It's very urgent that they get back to the talks in Beijing," Hans Blix told reporters after meeting with Indonesia's president, who has offered to play a mediating role in the crisis. North Korea this week referred to its missile program for the first time amid reports it has apparently completed fueling for a test launch of a weapon that could reach the United States.
