French Interior minister: Terrorist threat high

French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said Tuesday that the terrorist threat in France is "high and permanent," and urged the nation to stay alert. "The terrorist threat in France is high and permanent," Sarkozy said on France-2 television. "It is absolutely out of the question to let down our guard." He said that was why he was heading to London on Wednesday for talks with other European interior ministers on counterterrorism efforts, after British authorities uncovered an alleged terror plot to blow up US-bound flights. He said French anti-terrorist services "take what happened in Britain as seriously as possible."
