Former Vice President Al Gore is telling Democratic Party convention delegates that John McCain's election as president would be little more than a continuation of Bush-Cheney policies.
Gore told the crowd in prepared remarks: "Hey, I believe in recycling, but that's ridiculous."
It was Gore who lost the historic overtime election of 2000, awarded to George W. Bush when a recount in Florida was ordered to a halt. Gore asserted Thursday night that the country must put its trust in Barack Obama and Joe Biden at a time when people are faced with "a planetary emergency."
