Gore accuses McCain of policies too close to Bush

Former Vice President Al Gore is telling Democratic Party convention delegates that John McCain's election as president would be little more than a continuation of Bush-Cheney policies. Gore told the crowd in prepared remarks: "Hey, I believe in recycling, but that's ridiculous." It was Gore who lost the historic overtime election of 2000, awarded to George W. Bush when a recount in Florida was ordered to a halt. Gore asserted Thursday night that the country must put its trust in Barack Obama and Joe Biden at a time when people are faced with "a planetary emergency."
