Gunman kills 5 at public meeting in St. Louis before being shot by police

A gunman opened fire at a meeting of this St. Louis suburb's city council, killing two police officers and three other people before law enforcers fatally shot him, authorities said. The five were killed after the gunman rushed the council chambers Thursday night and began firing as he yelled "Shoot the mayor," according to St. Louis County Police spokesman Tracy Panus. Two others were wounded. Kirkwood police fatally shot the gunman.
