Turkish authorities on Tuesday detained a man who threatened to blow up a passenger plane if pilots did not to divert it to Iran, an official said.
The man, identified as Mehmet Goksen Gol, was detained at Ankara airport, said Transport Ministry Deputy Undersecretary Mehmet Kutlu.
Pilots landed the Pegasus airline flight from the city of Diyarbakir to Istanbul at Ankara's Esenboga airport. There were no reports of injuries. Passengers remained on the aircraft.
