Indonesia willing to contribute troops to UN-AU

Indonesia is willing to send troops to join the UN peacekeeping mission in the Darfur region of Sudan, a foreign ministry spokesman said Wednesday. Desra Percaya said Indonesia had expressed willingness to contribute troops to the joint United Nations-African Union mission, but was waiting for details on how many non-African troops are needed. "Until then, we could not say how many and what sort of troops we are going to offer," he said.
