Intel chief, 3 others, die in eastern Afghanistan blast

A roadside blast killed a regional intelligence chief and three of his bodyguards in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday, an official said. The blast targeted the intelligence chief of Qarghayi district in Laghman province as he was traveling in his car, said Nezamuddin, a spokesman for Laghman's governor. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast, said Nezamuddin, who goes by only one name. Police were investigating before naming any suspects.
