Iran open to future discussions with US over Iraq

Iran signaled its willingness Sunday to continue discussions with the US over security in Iraq for the benefit of the war-torn nation. Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Iraq had thanked Iran for its participation in three rounds of similar discussions, leaving the door open to Iraqi efforts to schedule future talks. "Request by Iraqi officials for holding (additional) talks between Iran and the US is still valid," said Hosseini during his weekly press briefing. "We participated in the talks for the cause of the Iraqi government and nation, which could be correspond to our national interests and security too."
