Israel to send medical assistance, water sanitation supplies to Myanmar

Israel will send medical assistance and water sanitation supplies to Myanmar in the coming days to help the cope with the devastating effects of the cyclone there, and is currently waiting for a list of needs from the Myanmar government, Foreign Ministry spokesman Aryeh Mekel said Monday evening. Mekel said a meeting will be held at the ministry on Tuesday to finalize details of the shipment, which will be sent with the help of various Israeli NGOs. Israel has an ambassador in Myanmar, and neither she, the other embassy official there, nor the embassy itself were hurt by the storm.
