Italian Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini will make a two-day trip to Israel and the West Bank later this month, a spokesman said Thursday.
Fini will also go to Tel Aviv where he is scheduled to meet his Israeli counterpart Silvan Shalom, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Vice Premier Ehud Olmert.
Fini will travel Oct. 31 to Ramallah for meetings with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei, Parliament Speaker Rawhi Fattuh and Deputy Prime Minister Nabil Shaath, spokesman Pasquale Terracciano told reporters.
Talks are expected to focus on the peace process as well as security and the fight against terrorism, Terracciano said.
Fini, a right-wing leader who turned his party from Neo-Fascist to mainstream conservative, denounced European anti-Semitism during a trip to Israel, a visit aimed at ridding himself and his party of any taint of neo-fascism.
