Japan's lower house of parliament was expected to vote Tuesday on a two-year extension of the country's air force mission in Iraq amid criticism of Tokyo's involvement in the increasingly unpopular war.
The measure was widely expected to win approval in an afternoon session of the full lower house, where Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's ruling bloc holds a majority.
