Police have found the body of an Italian artist who went missing while hitchhiking in Turkey, officials said Saturday. Police on Friday arrested a man suspected of murdering the 33-year-old artist, Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, the governor's office for northwestern city of Gebze said. The woman was last seen on March 31 in Gebze, while hitchhiking dressed in a wedding gown. She disappeared after using her credit card around noon. Police found her naked body hidden amid bushes in a forest area, after questioning the suspect. Police reached the man after determining that he had used her mobile phone after di Marineo's disappearance, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported. The artist, also known as Pippa Bacca, was hitchhiking with a friend from her hometown of Milan to Israel in a white wedding dress for peace. The two separated near Istanbul, shortly before she went missing. The man, identified by his initials M.K., had previously been convicted for theft, Anatolia reported. Di Marineo's sister identified the body.
