OECD meeting called into question over MK's remarks

Economic and development group's secretary-general sends a letter to Netanyahu threatening to cancel Jerusalem meeting.

The OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) Secretary-General Angel Gurria sent a letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warning that comments by Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov had put the organization's upcoming meeting in Jerusalem into question, it was reported on Saturday.
Misezhnikov implied that the OECD's decision to hold its conference in Jerusalem was a de facto recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Gurria's letter to Netanyahu said that, "In order to go forward with this meeting on the current basis, the tourism minister should correct the misperceptions created and put the meeting in its proper perspective," adding that "they also make it more difficult to propose further meetings in Israel."
Gurria said that he regretted Misezhnikov putting the meeting in the context of the current peace process, saying that it is "counterproductive to our common objective to continue the smooth integration of Israel into the work of the organization."
A Kadima MK on Saturday released a statement directed towards Netanyahu saying, "Get your government in order," Army Radio reported.
