Oscar hopeful Marion Cotillard gets France's best actress award

France's film industry has given its coveted Cesar award for best actress to Oscar hopeful Marion Cotillard for her starring role portraying French songstress Edith Piaf. The award Friday night could be the start of a winning streak for Cotillard who is in contention at the US Academy Awards for her performance as Piaf in "La Mome" - the film's international title is "La Vie en Rose." She was a favorite for the annual Cesar competition after critics agreed that she captured the soul of France's queen of song in the film by Olivier Dahan.
