Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf on Tuesday called for "harmony" among Muslims and expressed concern about the power struggles in Iraq and Lebanon.
Speaking after talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II, Musharraf told reporters that the Palestinian-Israeli dispute was "central to peace and security" in the Middle East and further afield.
He said he and the king, who stood next to him, faced "the serious challenge in the shape of our common fight against terrorism and extremism."
Musharraf said he had a "deep concern about the increasing cycle of violence in Iraq and troubles in Lebanon," where the Hizbullah-led opposition brought the country to a standstill on Tuesday through a strike aimed at toppling the government.
