Prosecutors wrapped up their case against a former graduate student facing terror charges for allegedly planning to aid a Palestinian militant group.
Authorities claim that Anwah Jaber, a naturalized US citizen born in the West Bank, planned to provide material support for Islamic Jihad, lied to immigration officials and provided false information on credit card applications.
In court Wednesday, prosecutors played Arabic songs found on Jaber's computer which they said encouraged martyrdom, the killing of infidels and supporting the resistance against US forces in the restive Iraqi city of Fallujah, the site of some of the most intense fighting between American troops and insurgents.
Witnesses also testified that Jaber, a 34-year-old former University of Arkansas doctoral candidate in chemistry, said he wanted to join the Palestinian resistance movement.
