Philippines: 1 killed, 7 hurt in bus station blast
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
An explosion at a bus terminal in the southern Philippines killed a boy and injured seven other people Friday, police said.
The blast in Cotabato city was believed to have been caused by an improvised bomb that was left at the terminal gate, where many passengers were milling around to board buses, said police Senior Inspector Samsom Obatay.
Some of the injuries were life-threatening, he said.
"Like in other explosions here, we suspect the local operatives of the Jemaah Islamiyah to be behind this," Obatay said.
