Police: Blast along road in Afghan capital, no casualties reported
By JERUSALEM POST STAFF
An explosion Friday night along a road in the western part of the Afghan capital caused property damage but no known human casualties, a police official said.
The blast occurred near an office of the Afghan Millat, or Afghan Nation, political party, but it was not clear whether there was any link.
Police officer Mohammad Nasim said the blast broke glass on buildings, including a mosque, in the residential neighborhood in Kabul. Police were investigating what sort of device caused the explosion.
Police surrounded the area, blocking off roads.
Although Afghanistan has seen increasing violence in recent years, the capital has been largely spared from random bomb attacks that Taliban militants use in their fight against Afghan and international troops.
