Assailants have attacked a military vehicle in eastern Turkey, according to news reports Thursday afternoon.
The Anatolia news agency Dogan said one soldier was killed when the assailants opened fire on a vehicle that was patrolling a town in Sivas province.
The private Dogan news agency said a group of about 15 people attacked the vehicle, and that a soldier is missing.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Rebels from the Kurdistan Workers' Party and outlawed leftist groups are active in the region.
